Transport is moving people and goods where they need to go, but we must transform the way we do so to tackle emissions
We want a Mayor who will champion a new approach to transport—strengthening east–west links, boosting economic prosperity, and making our communities cleaner, greener and more enjoyable places to live

We need a transport infrastructure that is more resilient to the challenges of climate change.
We call upon the mayor to
End transport poverty
Public transport should be affordable or free so everyone can access work, healthcare, shops, family and friends, regardless of income
Make it easy to use public transport
Public transport should be fully integrated, simple to use and provide frequent, reliable services across all modes and major routes
Design places for people
Prioritise walking, cycling and public transport over cars, creating safer, healthier communities, with interventions designed to reduce traffic and support people-friendly streets
Shift freight off the roads
Recognise that heavy lorries damage roads, worsen air pollution and climate change, and add congestion. Freight should be transported by rail wherever possible, rather than by road
Target investment
Prioritise investment in east–west links and connected communities through better rail and publicly controlled bus services, delivering economic, health and climate benefits
Enable a transformation away from fossil fuels
Enable a move from petrol and diesel forms of transportation with renewable electricity, putting clean transport at the centre of strategies for economy, health, climate and nature
